Privacy policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information Travel With Mirembe collects through this website, why we collect it and how we look after it. We handle personal data in line with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
What we collect
When you send us a message through the contact form or the custom trip form, we collect the details you type in: your name, phone number, email address if you give one, your message, and for custom trips your group size, preferred destination, dates and budget. We also record the date and time, your IP address and the type of browser you used, so we can detect and block spam.
When you tap a WhatsApp button on this website, we count the tap and note which trip it was for. We do not store your IP address for this. We keep only a one-way code made from it, which lets us count how many different people are interested in a trip without being able to identify you.
We do not collect payment details on this website, and you do not need an account to use it.
How we use it
We use your enquiry details only to reply to you and to plan the trip you asked about. We use WhatsApp tap counts to understand which trips people are most interested in. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except where a trip requires it, such as giving a hotel or transport company the names of travellers, and only after you have booked with us.
WhatsApp conversations
When you choose to chat with us on WhatsApp, the conversation takes place on WhatsApp and is also covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
Cookies
This website uses a small security cookie on its forms to protect them from misuse. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to two years after our last contact with you, then delete them. WhatsApp tap counts are kept as anonymous totals.
How we protect it
Enquiries are stored on a secure server and can only be seen by Travel With Mirembe staff who need them to respond to you, using password-protected accounts.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to us using it. To do so, contact us on +256 740 571031 by phone or WhatsApp. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date it was last updated.
